Hundreds of encryption advocates around the world helped mark the launch of the Global Encryption Coalition in a series of five webinars May 14. Everyone from leading security experts, government officials, civil society advocates and many more shared their perspectives on how encryption is critical to our digital and personal health in a global pandemic.
The event was also an opportunity to explore what we can do as a Coalition to protect and promote strong encryption policies and practices around the world.The success of the Coalition’s launch has made one thing very clear: our community is strong, passionate, and ready to take action. And we’re already getting stronger.
Within 24 hours of the launch, more than 15 new organizations have expressed interest to joining as new members. Let’s keep that momentum going.When it comes to making the Internet safer for everyone, we’re stronger together than apart.
