Join DigitalMedusa to discuss encrypting Internet infrastructure. Internet architecture and infrastructure produce data that go unencrypted. The unencrypted data and services can affect the privacy and security of the users and networks. This is especially the case among DNS resolvers: through mapping the data, without encryption, it might be possible to attribute who accessed which web services. This profiling can have implications for network security, privacy for users, protection of children, and trust and safety.
This session will discuss the importance of encryption at the infrastructure layer, the efforts done in the past to encrypt infrastructure, such as Let’s Encrypt, and aims to start a conversation on how to create similar movements to encrypt Internet infrastructure.
